Departs From Keauhou Bay

This tour departs from beautiful Keauhou Bay – near Kailua-Kona. Guests ages 3 to 78 are welcome. We’ll cruise along the beautiful and rugged Kona coast to one of the best snorkeling destinations in all of Hawaii – Captain Cook Monument. It’s a great boat ride and snorkeling is included but not required for those just wanting a nice cruise.

The ride to our snorkeling destination is scenic with l3000’ Mauna Loa, ocean and and coastal views. Upon arrival at Kealakekua Bay, you’ll snorkel an hour+ at Captain Cook Monument, one of Hawaii’s very best snorkeling spots.

Along the way – we for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, humpback whales (Winter), flying fish or turtles! It’s different every day and we’ll share with you our love of the area. After the boat ride you will enjoy entering the calm waters of Kealakekua Bay for snorkeling in 80 degree warm and clear ocean water. You will love swimming above coral reefs and tropical fish in an underwater world with 100′ visibility!

Snorkeling and beautiful scenery is featured along with fascinating sea life. including:

  • Vibrant Coral reef
  • Hawaiian spinner dolphins
  • Turtles
  • Humpback whales (seasonal)
  • Manta Ray and Eagle Rays

Entering the protected waters of Kealakekua Bay you will snorkel above tropical fish and emerald green coral gardens. With luck, you may also see Hawaiian spinner dolphins, green sea turtles & humpback whales (During whale watching season – November to March) while at Kealakekua Bay.

Also, see where famous explorer James Cook of the English Royal Navy first arrived in Hawaii. See the site of historic Ka`awaloa village and home to Hawaiian Royalty.

No snorkeling Experience Necessary – Beginning snorkelers and Children are welcome. Flotation provided includes buoyant pool noodles and if requested, swim lifejackets or waist floats. Trips depart at 10am.

We provide quality snorkel gear, drinks/snacks and floatation.

What’s not included:

You should bring towels, long sleeve t-shirt or sunblock, a hat and sunglasses.

Itinerary

  • Arrive and find closest on-street parking near 78-7156 Kaleiopapa St.
  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to departure time for parking, restroom stop, applying sunscreen and check that all guests have completed the on-line waivers.
  • Wait for crew to meet you at front gate of Adventures in Paradise Snorkel Tours boat yard. If the gate is open come right in.
  • Board vessel and depart Keauhou Bay for Snorkeling at Capt Cook Monument and Kealakekua Bay.
  • Cruise along historic Kona Coast, lava cliffs, sea caves, and sea cliff jumping area at the “end of the world”.
  • Arrive historic Kealakekua Bay for snorkeling and dolphin watching.
  • Return to boat for drinks, snacks and return to dock.

Traveling along the Kona Coast can include sightings of Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, flying fish, whales, and mantas.

We usually make a beeline to historic Kealakekua Bay to maximize your snorkeling time in the pristine, warm and clear waters near Captain Cook Monument.
