Manta Ray Night Snorkel Tour

Manta Ray Night Snorkel Tour

Manta rays are remarkable creatures. Adult Manta Rays are BIG: 12-16 feet wide.  They are also graceful, slow moving, strange looking fish that will mesmerize you by the underwater ballet – performing slow, graceful somersaults, dives and turns in the water column, coming within a foot of their audience, you!

Mantas have weird, alien like looks with odd large mouths and two attached “paddles” designed to gather and direct plankton and themselves.  These large mouths also allow you to view inside the Manta and see through their gills.  Many guests call the Manta Ray a surreal experience

Tours Include:

  • Boat Transport – Trips depart Keauhou Bay – a short 5 minute boat ride to the manta site – makes this your best choice for a manta ray experience. The boat ride is completely within a protected bay not along exposed ocean conditions.
  • We provide underwater lights that attracts plankton. Mantas know lighted areas are plankton rich and a great feeding ground for one of their favorite microscopic sized foods. The Mantas sift the plankton through their gill plates to ingest the plankton. Manta Rays are harmless without stingers or teeth.
  • In water guide and instruction: Our guide assists you by pulling the light board and you toward the manta feeding sites, insure you are comfortable and snorkel gear is fitted and operating.
  • We provide very good quality masks and snorkels.
  • We provide Wetsuits and flotation (swimming ability is needed anytime you enter water deeper than you can stand)
  • Maximum participant weight 285 pounds. Ages 7- 73 welcome – (Guests must be able to climb our boat ladder unaided).

Itinerary:

  • Meet 30 minutes prior to departure time
  • Issued wetsuits
